BUYING ADVISORY: EL - ADVISABLE

AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH

In this installment of the Fairy Animals of Misty Wood series, Penny is supposed to swish pollen into the air exactly five times before moving on to the next flower. Unfortunately, she has difficulty paying attention long enough to count, since she has lots of energy and tons of imagination. Can Penny ever learn to count to five, or is she doomed to always under- or over-pollinate Misty Wood?

Like the others in the series, this one is a cute, quick read with a large font and plenty of illustrations. Many young children will identify with Penny's colorful imagination and insatiable need to wiggle. The end has a sweet wrap-up. Each book in the Misty Wood series can be read as a stand-alone, so order is not important. (Always nice!)
