In rhyming text, a girl introduces us to all the female members of her extended family and how and when they were their hijab. Her aunt, for example wears a colorful hijab at work, but when she gets home her purple hair hangs loose.
One of the things this book does lack is a clear explanation of what the hijab is and what religious members wear it. It beautifully covers when it is worn and normalizes the clothing item, but gives few details.

There is an author's note at the end with some great explanations - a Hijab is defined, it explains when and why they are worn and by whom.
