Aleca has the power to freeze time and along with her friend and her aunt, who also have powers, they travel forward and backward in time. They visit their town before the school was built and then visit the town many years in the future to learn that it will be ruled by one powerful ruler.
I had a hard time following this book and I am still unclear exactly why they traveled to the past. It was built up to be a well planned and necessary trip, but they never actually did anything while back in time. Kids with powers is a fun topic, but this book lacked any umphf for me.
