AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
A little bird has accidentally swallowed a star, making it glow as bright as the star itself. All of the animals tell the bird to go away, afraid that the bird’s glow will attract predators. The bird cries in its sorrow, until a man comes along and admires its beauty.
The simply drawn illustrations are vibrant and attractive. The little bird’s plight is striking – the end is a little odd, but the rest is so striking, I enjoyed it just the same.
