BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3)- ESSENTIAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: HIGH
The boy comes home from school sad, because his friend drew a picture of him with slanted lines as eyes. His Baba (dad) helps him see that his eyes can see all the way to the stars, and his Agong (grandpa) shows him how loved he is. He shares that love with his Di Di (little brother) and is proud that all their eyes look similar and they can all see miracles.
It’s embarrassing that some adults teach children to make fun of others for a physical feature that means nothing in the long run. A wonderful celebration of grit and love.
