Haddad’s charming illustrations are a sweet accompaniment to Mourtada’s poetry. I really like how the five line stanzas are just enough irregular to avoid numbing repetition, while still ending in a grounding rhyme. A loving book to gift to anyone who you are leaving behind, but also heartening with its uplifting message of love.
