Hokkanen takes us through the uses, life cycle, and identification of many kinds of leaves. From the clever I had no idea this was a non-fiction book. The cute illustrations with the expressive leafy faces and their caterpillar neighbor turn what could be a dry subject into a delight to enjoy. Hokkanen also has Spring Seeds, but I haven’t read it. It also has a tear-out memory card game which you should probably remove before circulating.
