THe sandcastle is so proud - until it gets squished with a single step. It keeps trying to reinvent itself, but even the weather and the ocean is against it. It isn’t until it finds a friend that it realizes that together they can survive the squishes.
Little kids aren’t going to understand, and I don’t think you should try to explain the deeper message to The Squish - let them enjoy the grit of the little sandcastle.
