Birdie is trying to write a story, but she can't think of anything and her page is blank. When she falls asleep, the storytellers (which are her pencil, pen, and markers) get together and go over the three rules for storytelling. Birdie needs to #1 pay attention and marvel at the world, #2 Done is better than perfect, and #3 only you can write your story. The storytellers know that they can help and leave her clues. Will their clues help Birdie get inspired to write her story?
I really liked the way Mandin turned what could be a boring subject into a creative, fun story, and made the steps of writing a story fun to think about.
