Clarisse, a stray cat, loves the pictures she has glimpsed in books. While the keeper of the books tries to keep her out of the library, she finds a way in. She doesn't understand the black squiggly lines but loves it when a shy little girl reads them to her. Now Clarisse needs to convince the keeper of the books that she should stay.
A sweet book about a library cat - though if you don't have a library cat, your students may ask for one after hearing this. The human characters are a variety of ages and ethnicities.
