When chicken is bumped out of Farmer’s truck, she has to make her own way back to the farm. With some aid of various animals, including some intensive life-coaching from Turtle, she will still need to overcome her self-doubts to evade Fox and find her way home.
Normally I love Jan Thomas’s animal books – Is Everyone Ready For Fun? is one of my personal favorites – but I am a life coach skeptic, so Turtle’s affirmation method didn’t appeal to me. But if that point of view is part of your school and personal philosophy, then the message will delight you – as much as the illustrations delight me.
