A class of school children go on the field trip to a pumpkin farm so they can all pick out their own pumpkin. They have so much fun choosing just the right one. While on the way back to school, the pumpkins fall off the bus, one after the other. Only the really big one, strapped to the top of the bus remains. How can they make this come out all right?
I loved the bright and colorful illustrations accompanying the delightful story. The solution is ingenious and I loved how everyone came together to help the children. This would be a fun read-a-loud and at the end you could make the pumpkin cookies, following the recipe provided at the back of the book.
