Pierre and Paul: Avalanche by Caroline Adderson and Alice Carter - OPTIONAL

BUYING ADVISORY: EL - OPTIONAL

AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE

After a hard day of backyard explorer imaginings, Paul and Pierre are ready for some serious snacks – as long as it isn’t salad! As they build their sandwich they become very creative – so inventive that disaster is imminent.  In fact, it may have to salad after all.

Adderson and Carter work together to create just enough written and illustrated clues that a patient reader can figure out the French words – mostly. I wish there were a translation or dictionary in the back.  The publisher, Owlkids, is in Toronto, so the book makes total sense.  If I had a French immersion class in my school, I would include it too.
