Elmore the porcupine is on the hunt for a best friend - he has plenty of acquaintances and nice neighbors, but feels that a best friend, a companion, is something that he is missing. His uncle tells him there is no magical formula to find a best friend, but if Elmore keeps looking around he will find one.
While I appreciate the idea of finding someone to pal around with, the idea that you must have a best friend is not my idea of what we should be teaching students.
