Terry the fish is plain blue and great at hiding.  But he is jealous of the dazzling, multi-colored tropical fish who refuse to play with such a plain fish.  Terry finds a way to dress-up colorfully and join the tropical, but when danger comes along, he discovers that it’s his plain colors that will save his life.

I love Jarvis’s bright illustrations of the world underwater.  Terry’s plight and its resolution make for fun to read. Plus the message to figure out to be yourself is delightfully light-handed.
