AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Mr. Posey finds that his life has become a little dull. On a visit to the thrift store, he realizes that the bin of used glasses can allow him to have different experiences. A pair of star shaped glasses, for example, allows him to see the night sky. Ultimately he realizes that his own glasses are best, they just need a good cleaning.
I found this story a little bit slow, although it could have worked if it wasn’t also long. The narrative describes everything in great detail which in unnecessary for the tone of this story. The message of the story felt simplistic, especially given the length. All that said, the illustrations are charming.
