This is the 100th Anniversary Edition of Williams classic tale. The Velveteen Rabbit and his adventures in the nursery. He lives the typical life of a toy. He's loved especially when he is played with on Christmas morning. But as time goes by he is forgotten as other toys overshadow him. Until, one night the boy couldn't find his China dog in whom he always slept with. He soon becomes the boy's constant companion to the point where he gets threadbare. The real question is when toys are loved that much can they truly become real?
This has been one of my favorite stories since childhood. The tale is truly charming and relatable, and that's what makes it a classic. The illustrator Erin Stead does a beautiful job using wood block printing and pencil. This medium of illustration keeps the story timeless and yet making it very fun to visualize.
