A little ghost is different from his parents and his friends - instead of being a sheet, he is a quilt. His great-grandmother had been a lace curtain. It's hard for him to move quickly and fly through the air, one day he couldn't get away in time and had to look like a quilt on a park bench. The other ghosts even call him a name - Scrappy. But on Halloween, he has a plan to watch the trick-or-treaters from someone's front porch, but the evening doesn't go as expected.

What a delightful story! I was intrigued by the quilt, and love the story so much I keep sharing it with everyone. The illustrations, mostly in grays and browns and oranges - except the ghost is a blue patchwork, are beautiful - reminiscent of picture books from the 1950s. AJ loved it! She said it was Halloweenie, but was fun for any time in the autumn. She also drew a patchwork ghost in school the next day as the book was still on her mind. So fun, highly recommended.
