Faizah is so proud of her big sister Asiya because it's her first day of hijab and she has chosen the most beautiful fabric - it's the proudest blue - like the ocean or the sky! Walking to school with her she feels like a princess, she can't help but run to the big kids side of the playground to give her another hug and see her big smile. Even though some boys say mean things, Asiya and her friends turn away so it's easy for Faizah to be strong, too.

Two sisters taking pride in hijab. What a beautiful story! I'm so excited for my students to see themselves or each other in this sweet picture book. Author Ibtihaj Muhammad is the first Muslim American woman in hijab to compete for the US in the Olympics.
