When a very brave snail spots a field of cabbage on the other side of the highway, he is determined to cross, despite danger, weather, cars and birds. He stops halfway when it begins to rain, offering shelter and a cup of tea to some ants also caught in the storm - but when he gets going again, a hungry bird gets him disoriented, and he ends up back on the same side where he started. What's a determined snail to do now?

Such clever illustrations! Tabor's view inside the snail shell was delightful - I laughed out loud. A great story of grit and kindness. Happy and upbeat - I worried every time a car passed over or nearby the snail, but, it has a very happy and unexpected ending.
