Bee is working on getting her F.L.E.A. (Fenced -in Law Enforcement Agency) badge. She feels like Flea, her boss, is always saving the day and she wants to be successful too. Flea and Bee are invited to an "after the rain party' hosted in a puddle. Bee is afraid and doesn't know how to swim, but is dragged along by Flea. While Flea is busy playing games, Bee has her own adventures and finds a lost baby water bear whom she returns to her mother. She accidently gets propelled back to land and finds out a new danger for everyone who lives in the puddle. Will Bee save the day and earn her badge?
Bee and Flea and the Puddle Problem is interesting, funny, and engaging. Kids will enjoy the silly personalities of all the creatures who live in the puddle and in the yard. Humphry cleverly introduces readers to the water cycle and other real environmental concepts. I liked the true/false quiz at the end. Deas cute black-and-white illustrations help bring the underwater party to life.
