A young Muslim girl wants to know why the women in her family wear hijabs. They all have different styles and wear them in different ways. Every time she asks one of the women in her family about it, they are busy and don't have time for her questions. Is it because they are a secret spy, or because they hide snacks in there? Noor wants to know. Finally Noor's ammu (mom) is willing to explain to her. What is the secret?
Nor Needs to Know! is a cute and humorous way to explain to children why some Muslims wear hijabs. The story gives a small insight, but not all the reasons for wearing hijabs. I would have liked a little more explanation at the back of the book. The illustrations are energetic, warm, and inviting.
