A young girl named Bella Ballerina loves her ballet class. She loves to go on tippy-toes and plie to the music. Bella can chasse, passe, bourree and arabesque. When she falls, friends help her up. Madame announces a recital. During the recital, Bella is afraid to go out on stage with her classmates. She sees a boy lose part of his costume. What will she do?
Bella Ballerina is a wonderful story for would-be dancers, and teaches kids to be observant, kind and help each other. Both boys, girls and many ethnicities are included in the cute illustrations. I liked the glossary of dance terms in the back.
