Gibbs has created a fun read-aloud with its high vocabulary and many funny asides. It would also be a good book to give to young, higher readers. (It's the opposite of a high-low book.) I loved that the illustrations were part of the story (i.e. "Here is what I did:" [illustration]).
Beatrice is illustrated with dark skin on the cover, and Tim appears white.
