"Your Vote Matters" is an excellent introduction of how American politics and elections work. Along with elections, Katzman dives into the history of elections and how our system has been shaped over hundreds of years. She also gives brief introductions to economic and social factors, such as how elections were shaped by social movements as well as taxes, trade, etc.

"Your Vote Matters" is a great introduction of how our country works and votes in new leaders to young kids, teaching them how important it is to take a stand in your community and country. Katzman keeps the topics unbiased and describes the processes of leadership in America in a way that's easy to understand and interesting for kids. Explaining vocabulary, creating simple metaphors, and giving history behind our system creates a great introduction of political science to kids. Duda's illustrations show simplified diagrams and pictures are also used to mix up the mediums. This is a great, simplified introduction to American politics and political science, teaching kids the importance of efficacy at a young age.
