"Erno Rubik and his Magic Cube" follows the story of the mathematician Erno Rubik and how he created the Rubik's cube. Following his childhood and interests, we learn how math can create puzzles, and how it created the most famous puzzle of all time.
Kramer's illustrations follow the style of a Rubik's cube, using bright colors and geometric shapes to pull the reader in. Aradhya's simple descriptions of the geometry behind creating the Rubik's cube are easy to understand, and her narration is interesting and easy to follow for nearly any level of reader. "Erno Rubik and his Magic Cube" is an interesting history of how inventions can be created and how they can rise to popularity in the blink of an eye. A great pick for any kid who's interested in shapes, puzzles, or just wants a fun book about the history of a famous object that they probably own. Erno Rubik is Hungarian.
