Two young people are exchanging drawings and letters all year. What they don't know I that one of them is a unicorn and the other is human! Instead, they enjoy their exchanges, supporting each other's triumphs and consoling in sadness. Then the day comes that all of the pen pals are going to meet... Unicorns are a hot commodity and they are so cute and sunshiny.
I love that even though Connie (the human) starts out seeing many things from a negative perspective, Nicole (the unicorn) helps her see the silver lining in each situation. Connie is white, and Nicole is a pink unicorn. In one sentence Connie mentions that she has two moms.
