A seagull watches the activities and movements of a cargo ship. It watches as the cargo ship is loaded, set sail, moves through storms and calm, angles into port, and unloads.  The captain watches over the ship through all stages.

While the illustrations are enjoyable, the author jumped from the bird's perspective to the captain's perspective at the end, which seemed jumbled. The prose plodded to the end.
