A young boy has a father who has an addiction. He doesn't understand why sometimes his dad can be so fun, while other times, he gets so mad or sad. The boy's grandmother explains to him that people are made up of many different pieces, and this is just one piece of his dad. After the dad dies, the boy learns how to process and acknowledge his different emotions.
This book was written by a LCSW and would be a great tool for kids that are going through something like this. I liked this book because many kids are going through this at home and this can help them process and talk about what is happening. I also liked that it was written by a LCSW. There are resources and additional information at the back of the book for adults and children. The pictures are cute and engaging.
