The girl is finally old enough to go out at night with her mother to study owls. She anxiously awaits the first owl to land in their soft net so that they can weigh it, measure it, and mark it. Or will they go the whole night without seeing one?
Night Owl Night is a sweet story about a young girl wanting to be a bird scientist like her mother. Richmond captures the interest and patience it takes to be a scientist. Beautiful illustrations bring the story to life. There is a nice fact sheet about different owl species and owl banding at the end of the story. The mother and daughter are illustrated with brown skin.
