BUYING ADVISORY: Pre-K, EL (K-3) - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: LOW
Nasla is trying to fall asleep, but she had her father put her toys away because she thought she was a too big for those. Now something seems to be stirring on top of her wardrobe and she’s not so sure.
Sometimes Nasla’s musings seem child-like but other times they are way too deep for a child. Similarly, the illustrations are somewhat simple – maybe reaching towards child-like, but in reality, they are oddly sophisticated. The disjointed words and pictures don’t allow th reader to settle into the story.
