A boy is counseled to stop and notice things wherever he goes, and then he is taken on a journey around the world -- and even up to the moon.
The colorful illustrations are gorgeous, and it's nice to see a Brown boy in an everyday picture book. The idea of advising kids to look around them and notice details is great, too, although the actual plot is a bit of a mess and pretty hard to follow. A stronger through-line for the plot definitely would have bumped this one up to Essential.
