BUYING ADVISORY: EL (K-3) - ADVISABLE
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
When a family adopts two dogs, they find that Monty is very outgoing - he likes to play with the other dogs at the park, cuddles with the family and have his ears scratched. Milo does not like petting, he prefers to play by himself, and while he enjoys being with the family, beside them is close enough. The family is wondering if Milo is happy with them. One day, relatives visit and cousin Henry is a lot like Milo. Henry likes to be off by himself, doing his own thing. He and Milo spend the day together and the family realizes that Milo is special, just like Henry.
People (and dogs) have different personalities and the best thing we can do for them is accommodate. I like that cousin Henry was an example to the family to help them learn about their dog. A great story about how it is fine to be different.
