The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is guarded 24/7 through every kind of weather by the highly trained sentinels who walk 21 steps, back and forth across the face of the tomb. 

Tavares’ beautiful illustrations hit just the right note to complement Gottesfeld’s information about the tomb and the sentinels. While I am not exactly sure how teachers will use this in their curriculum, I do think many kids will find it fascinating to read.
