Aptly named, this is a call to welcome the spring season and all the ways things change as the world transitions from cold gray days to long warm ones. It is a shout out to spring, as well as an invitation to look all around at what spring means physically in the world and in our actions.
The cadence of the words matches the excitement of the sentiment of the book. The bright, cheerful illustrations are beautiful to look at (my favorite is of the artist painting flowers on a canvas) and match the message of the book perfectly. This would work well in a series, with a book for each season, respectively. As a stand-alone book, Happy Springtime! is a good way to welcome in its namesake.
