When Debby’s picture gets a lot of attention from the teacher and from other students, Yaz is jealous. So jealous that she does something that really hurts Debby’s feelings. Now on top of her jealousy, Yaz feels awful about her behavior and isn’t sure what she can do to make things better, because she really only wants Debby to be her friend again.
A good issues book for a face to face or classroom discussion about what fuels jealousy and also about how to apologize. Kids may not pick this up on their own, but it is excellent for a much needed attitude talk.
