After Claire's mom recovers from a serious car accident, she starts acting strangely. Claire has to quit softball to take care of her brother and one morning, she calls 911 when her mom doesn't wake up. Her mother has an addiction.
I love these titles from Magination Press. The text is honest and not judgmental. a child can see themselves or build empathy for a friend going through a similar situation. I like that Claire meets a friend in her own support group. The characters are white.
