Sassy: Little Sister is Not My Name by Sharon Draper, 112 pages. Scholastic Press, 2009

EL (K-3) - ESSENTIAL
Sassy is your typical 9yo. She has great friends and a fun family to be around. She even has a cool bag that has almost everything in the world a girl her age could need. She has a problem, though: she can’t get her family to quit calling her Little Sister. When her family get trapped in a dangerous situation and she’s the only one that can help, will her bag be able to save them all? Fun story, lots of things to laugh about in it. An enjoyable story for early chapter book readers. I highly recommend purchasing
