Poetry is paired with water-color paintings expressing a wide range of emotions and experiences encompassed in motherhood. The words and the art dive into the loneliness, pain, sacrifice, and beauty of being a parent.
This book is breathtakingly beautiful, but I can not see an obvious audience for this book in school libraries. I believe the intended reader for this book is an adult, a parent. That said, it could potentially be used as a model for water-coloring or writing poetry, but I don’t think the subject matter will naturally appeal to many students.
