Bee: A Peek-Through Picture Book

This book follows a
bee as it pollinates flowers. The forest
is turned bright with beautiful colors from the flowers that have been helped
by the bee. Because there is so much
work to do the bee goes back and gets the other bees from the hive to
help. All the bees work on pollinating the
flowers.
The bright illustrations are
eye-catching and the peek-through pages are fun for little readers. I have two issues with the poem not matching
the illustrations-such as it says the bee has gone away but the bee is still on
the page, and it also says at the very end that the bee did all the work on its
own, but all of the other bees just helped.
This inconsistency is confusing and I don’t think the peek-through pages
would last long in a library. Other than
that it’s a fun read aloud because of the rhyme and the pictures are
attractive. Tree by the same author is
much better.
