Squash was always his owner’s best buddy - playing and sleeping together as much as possible. When she gets a squishy pirate stuffie, however, Squash feels left out and goes to great lengths to eliminate the competition.
Squash is funny and adorable, but I also like how Mayer’s story could also open a conversation about what to do when we, as humans, feel left out or supplanted by someone or something else.
Squash’s human is white.
