Tortoise and Mouse’s old burrow was flooded, so Tortoise set out to dig them a new burrow - and ready to play with Mouse once it was complete. However - Mouse is nowhere to be found! WHen other creatures come asking to also have a burrow, TOrtoise obliges, but he is getting more and more upset as Mouse has still not returned!
An adorable tale about friendship and symbiotic relationships, but also the back matter includes a look at the “pourquoi” (why?) traditional tale form, encouraging others to join in forming their own pourquois. Science teachers could also use this to talk about keystone species. So versatile! Also look for the fun surprise under the cover.
