Evelyn has only enough coin to pay for a mystery egg for her new pet.  She tries all kinds of spells to make it hatch faster, but she realizes that time and patience are the only things that will get not only eggs, but everything else in her life to ripen just right.

Just right for a Halloween book without being just about Halloween.I love her bouncy green hair and the rest of Santoso’s whimsical drawings.  Ferry has written a nice interlude of repetition in the middle, which students will catch on to quickly and enjoy.
