The little girl loves helping her mother prepare the platanos and the other dishes that celebrate their Dominican Republic heritage. Platanos are always part of every celebration, but also every heartache.
What a great celebration of a food special to Dominican culture. I love this way to show children from Latin cultures that they deserve books about their food and their ways of life.
