A little girl struggles with how to help her family and
community overcome the bad news that they see on TV. She tries to be on her
best behavior and help out in lots of little ways, but it just isn’t working.
She decides to try one more small act of kindness and that spreads to everyone
around her.
This book has a pretty deep message that could be lost on a
lot of kids that may just not have the intense experience suggested in the story.
It is delivered in a really understandable way, but it lacks some backstory
that is essential for younger readers to understand the ultimate goal of the
book.
